What it does

Pages

Merge several PDFs, reorder by dragging, rotate, duplicate, insert blank pages, delete, and export only the pages you tick.

Real redaction

A cover-up box hides content, and the page is rasterized on save so the text underneath is genuinely gone, not just hidden.

Edit text

Click a line of text to replace it. Size, colour and the closest standard font are picked up from the document.

OCR on selection

Drag a box around scanned text. It is recognized in all four reading directions, so vertical dimensions on drawings work too.

Forms and signatures

Fill in form fields, draw a signature once and reuse it, and paste or place images, stamps and freehand notes.

Private by design

All processing happens in your browser. No upload, no account, no server. Works offline once loaded.

How to use it

Open the tool, drop a PDF onto the page, and pick a tool from the bar at the top. Select text copies text and runs OCR on whatever you drag a box around. Edit text replaces a line. Cover up removes content. When you are done, press Save PDF and choose where to put it.

Questions

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The PDF is opened by JavaScript in your own browser, and the edited file is written there too. There is no server that sees it.

Does the OCR work offline?

Yes. The recognition engine and the character model are built into the page, so nothing is fetched when you use it. The first run takes a few seconds while the engine starts.

Can I edit existing text directly?

Partly. PDF does not store text as editable text, so the original line is covered and replaced with new text that matches its position, size and colour. The original font can only be matched to the closest standard font.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, in a mobile browser. OCR is slower there, and very large pages can run out of memory.

What does it cost?

Nothing. The site is paid for by the ads on this page.

Download

The downloadable file is the same tool in one self-contained HTML file, with no ads and no network access at all. Useful on a USB stick, on an offline machine, or if you simply do not want to depend on this site.
